Multi-Family Recycling Guidelines

Did you know? Food contaminants or non-recyclables in the recycling containers can turn a whole truckload of recyclables into garbage.

The City of Burnaby provides weekly curbside collection of recyclables from multi-family properties. Follow this guide to ensure you sort your recyclables into the correct containers, or download a copy of Multi-Family Recycling Guide.

5 Tips for Recycling Success!

  1. Rinse all blue box items
  2. Flatten metal & plastic containers
  3. Include plastic containers and bags with 1, 2, 4 or 5 stamped on them
  4. Bag all plastic bags inside one and tie; place with mixed containers
  5. Place shredded paper inside paper bag or box and place with mixed paper

Plastic Recycling Reminder
Check your plastics! Only plastics with a number 1, 2, 4 or 5 stamped on the container or bag are accepted in the mixed containers bin!
