This public information meeting will provide you with the information you need regarding the City’s plans to respond to the 2012 Fraser River Freshet and any potential flood.

When: Tuesday, May 22, 2012, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Note that a public presentation will be made at 4:30 p.m. and repeated at 6:00 p.m.

Single Family Garbage Guidelines

The City of Burnaby provides weekly curbside collection of garbage from single and two-family homes. Garbage is collected using an automated collection system that utilizes specially designated wheeled containers.

Collection Reminders

  • Only one (1) wheeled garbage container is allowed per property for collection each week
  • There are four sizes to choose from 120L, 180L, 240L or 360L. See Automated Collection for more details
  • All garbage must be bagged and fit into the container
  • Do not overfill containers or place garbage in any other containers, it will not be collected
  • Take extra garbage to a regional garbage transfer station or wait until your next collection day.  Call 604-732-9253 for your nearest garbage transfer station
  • Ensure that there are no Banned Materials  in your garbage container
  • Don't forget to check: is your waste a Food Scrap or Recyclable product?
