This public information meeting will provide you with the information you need regarding the City’s plans to respond to the 2012 Fraser River Freshet and any potential flood.

When: Tuesday, May 22, 2012, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Note that a public presentation will be made at 4:30 p.m. and repeated at 6:00 p.m.

ePost and eBill Registration and Viewing Instructions

You only need to register once. Register early, the process takes four to five days.

1. Register Electronically to Receive Your Utility Statement and Tax Notice

You'll need the Roll Number and Access Code, which is printed on the most current paper copy of your Utility Statement or Tax Notice.

  • Log onto www.epost.caor your online banking website
  • Click on epost/eBillers (this varies depending on your financial institution). Contact your financial institution if you need assistance
  • Select and add “City of Burnaby - Taxes/Utilities” as a new Mailer
  • Complete and submit the registration form with the following information:
    • Roll Number/Access Code: Your “Roll Number” (12 digits) and your Electronic Statement Registration “Access Code” (four digits) from your paper utility statement and tax notice.  Example for your entry: 1234567890123211 (the first 12 digits are the Roll Number and the last four digits are the Access Code, no dashes or spaces in between)
    • E-mail address: You must enter your correct email address to receive email notifications when there are new statements in your Inbox.  When you change your e-mail address, please update your account profile in www.epost.ca  or your financial institution online banking website.  Please also notify the City of Burnaby Tax Office at 604-294-7350

Please Note

The email address you entered in the registration screen will not be used for any new mail notifications. 

  • For receiving new mail and statement notifications in your ePost Mailbox, you need to setup email notification in the My Profile, My Notifications screen.  The email address you entered in the notification screen will automatically notify you when new mail arrives in your Inbox
  • For more details on ePost Registration, please go to www.epost.ca or contact ePost Customer Service at 1-877-376-1212.

Please Note

You will no longer receive paper statements in the mail unless you remove/deactivate the City of Burnaby as the Mailer through ePost.

2. Receiving Your Electronic Registration Notification

  • Four to five days after you have registered, check your ePost inbox for messages (through epost.ca or your online banking service). The notification will advise you if your registration was successful or has been rejected
  • If you receive a rejection notice, it may be due to an error in entering your account information. Try repeating the process. If you continue to experience difficulties, phone the Burnaby Tax Office at 604-294-7350
  • If your registration is successful you will start receiving your electronic statements, so remember to check your ePost inbox

3. View and Pay Electronically

  • To view your Utility Statement and Tax Notice: log onto epost.ca or your online banking site in your usual manner. Navigate to the e-bill section (varies depending on your financial institution) and open your ePost inbox to view your City of Burnaby Utility/Tax Statements
  • To pay your Utility/Tax statements: if you receive your bill through online banking, select the item from within the ePost inbox and then click on "Pay" button. At epost.ca, follow your usual procedure to pay a bill.
  • If you are eligible for the Home Owner Grant, you can complete and submit the Home Owner Grant Application electronically when your Tax Statement is received. For instructions, see Step 4.

4. How to Submit Your Home Owner Grant Application - Tax Notice Only

Effective January 1, 2011, Home Owner Grants can no longer be claimed through ePost.  If you are eligible, please claim your Home Owner Grant online through burnaby.ca/whog. This is an easy and direct way to claim your home owner grant online.  You will need your "Roll Number" and "Access Code" to access your account for submission.  See the Home Owner Grant section in Tax & Budget Information page for more details.
