Sprinkling Restrictions
Water Shortage Response Plan
Burnaby is currently at Stage One of the Plan.
Metro Vancouver's Water Shortage Response Plan (WSRP) is a way to manage:
- The demand for drinking water during summer months when rainfall is lowest and demand is highest
- Water shortages during an unforeseen emergency (eg earthquake, major service disruption)
- Limited storage capacity of reservoirs
- Continued population and industry growth that have led to increased demand
The WSRP focuses on reducing demand for outdoor water use, and its restrictions are all enforced by the City of Burnaby.
