CSS 35th Anniversary Year
Citizen Support Staff 2012
This year we celebrate 35 years of helping Burnaby seniors, people with disabilities and families. In 1977, Ms. Raylene Burke was hired as the Administrator for the new Volunteer Services of the Burnaby Health Department. Volunteers were recruited to assist public health nurses at child health immunization clinics and breast feeding clinics. The program soon expanded to include screening all of the kindergarten children in Burnaby schools.
On May 8th we recognize and thank our volunteers for their years of service to the community with our awards evening at the James Cowan Theatre.
