Computer Aided Design Drafting
Who We Are
Computer-Aided Design Drafting (CADD) encompasses a broad range of computer based hardware and software tools that enable engineers and design professionals in the design and documentation of a product.Their drawings are detailed instructions of how a product is to be constructed, and can be stored in a computer file.
What We Do

The Engineering CADD personnel:
- Collect utility packages
- Review constructed drawings
- Design and document city infrastructure
- Data entry to the GIS warehouse
- Provide drafting products and services to both internal staff and the public
CADD/Drafting Standards
Engineering drawings must include both the digital CADD file and a hard copy Mylar.
For homeowners or developers: please ensure that the consultant is aware of the requirement standards. Failure to comply may delay the constructed drawing submission phase.

Data Request
We provided digital drawing files to consultants who work on behalf of the homeowners or developer for Burnaby. Data is provided in the format of an AutoCAD 2004 drawing format with GIS data attributes embedded into the AutoCAD entity.
Burnaby Map Online
City of Burnaby's interactive mapping application BurnabyMap is a web-based mapping application that provides access to the City of Burnaby's geographic and attribute data using the Internet Explorer Web Browser. BurnabyMap pulls together data from a variety of sources, and organizes it into detailed and informative maps that can be viewed, saved to file, e-mailed or printed.
