This public information meeting will provide you with the information you need regarding the City’s plans to respond to the 2012 Fraser River Freshet and any potential flood.

Where: Riverway Golf Course Clubhouse, 9001 Bill Fox Way, Burnaby, BC
When: Tuesday, May 22, 2012, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Note that a public presentation will be made at 4:30 p.m. and repeated at 6:00 p.m.

Submit a Letter to Council

If you wish to submit a letter for placement on a Council agenda it must be received in the Office of the City Clerk by oon of the Wednesday prior to the Council meeting. Your letter must be addressed to:

Council meetings scheduled for 2011 are as follows:

  • January 17, 24, 31 
  • February 7, 14, 21
  • March 7, 14, 21
  • April 4, 11, 18 
  • May 5*, 9, 30 (*5:00pm, Thursday, May 5 due to Federal Election on Monday, May 2)
  • June 13, 20, 27
  • July 11, 25
  • August 29
  • September 12, 19
  • October 3, 17, 24
  • November 7, 28
  • December 5**, 12 (**Inaugural-style Council meeting)

You may also fax your letter to 604-294-7537, or email to clerks@burnaby.ca. Your letter must be signed and include your name and address. (Please note that all correspondence submitted to the City of Burnaby will form part of the public record and will be when this matter is before Council or a Committee of Council. The City considers the author’s address relevant to Council’s consideration of this matter and will disclose this personal information. The author’s phone number and email address are not relevant and should not be included in the correspondence if the author does not wish this personal information disclosed.”)

There may be occasions when your letter doesn't appear on an agenda when you think it should. This may be because a staff report is being prepared in response to your concerns and your letter will be placed on the same agenda as the staff report; it may be that your concerns are better addressed by a Council Committee and your letter is being directed to the appropriate Committee; or your letter may contain information which is not suitable for a public agenda and will be dealt with on a confidential basis.

Submit a Letter to a Board, Committee or Commission

If you wish to submit a letter for placement on a Board, Committee, or Commission agenda it must be received by the Committee Secretary at least 7 days prior to the Board, Committee, or Commission Meeting.

Letters to the Advisory Planning Committee, Burnaby Board of Variance, Community Development Committee, Community Heritage Commission, Community Policing Committee, Environment Committee, Executive Committee of Council, Finance & Civic Development Committee, Mayor’s Task Force on Graffiti, Simon Fraser Liaison Committee, Social Issues Committee, Traffic Safety Committee, and Transportation Committee can be addressed to:
