Port Metro Vancouver Chemical Fire

Posted 6:30 PM, March 4, 2015

The City of Burnaby has just participated in a City of Vancouver Emergency Operation Centre-hosted conference call with Vancouver Coastal Health and key representatives from all involved emergency agencies. The key message coming out of this call is that an “all clear” has been issued regarding this incident.  As a result, the City of Burnaby has now deactivated its Emergency Operation Centre.

The City will, however, carry on with overnight monitoring for air quality. The City also continues to recommend that anyone who smells smoke within the next 12-hour period to keep doors and windows closed, or if outside, to cover their mouth and nose with a wet cloth.

If additional updates are required, they will be issued on this website and via the City of Burnaby Twitter account – and/or by agencies in the region and via the media.
