Crows On The Flight Path Fence Art Project

Crows

Inspired by the enormous number of crows that congregate in northwest Burnaby every day, community members, teachers, administrators and 500 students from Gilmore Community School each created a crow to add to the crow flight path.

Parents and community members cut and primed the interfoam plastic crows, while students designed and coloured their crow “self-portrait” on paper. Working with artist Anna Talbot, everyone then painted crows which were later drilled with holes and attached to the fence. The painted crows swoop and glide along the fence, and we wonder if the “real” crows notice them as they pass by each day!
