"Originally a mechanical building for a large greenhouse, the Steamplant now functions primarily as a ceramic workshop. I am fortunate to be the first mixed-media artist to occupy this charming heritage building. In honour of this, I will be releasing a limited pressing of electronic music entitled, "Music for Kilns".
~ Jay Johnson

Jay learned how to make moving contraptions by taking things apart as a kid. He went on to graduate from Emily Carr College of Art and Design in 1993. His kinetic sculpture and video work have been exhibited in Canada, the United States and Europe. His teaching experience includes sessional classes for children at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts and within the Vancouver public school system.
