Skating

Bill Copeland Arena is Closed Until Further Notice

Due to mechanical issues, Bill Copeland Arena is closed and all “on-ice” programs and skating sessions are cancelled until further notice. 

     Cancellations include:
  • Skating lessons on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays & Sundays for the rest of December
  • Adult Drop In Hockey on December 17
  • Parent & Tot Skate on December 17
  • Masters Drop In Hockey on December 18
  • Public Skate on December 19
  • Skate with Santa on December 20
  • Family Skate & Family Hockey on December 21  

    Programs running in Burnaby Lake Arena:
  • Adult Drop In Hockey on December 19
  • Adult Shoot n Score on December 18

    Hours & Registration
  • Monday  9am-4pm
  • Tuesday 9-11:30am & 1-4pm
  • Wednesday-Friday 9am-4pm
  • Saturday 12:30-3pm (Closed December  20) 
  • Sunday 12noon-5pm (Closed December 21)

Please call the 24-Hour Info Line at 604-298-0533 for more information on drop-in programs and holiday skating schedule. Off-ice programs (ie. in meeting rooms) will continue as usual. Burnaby Lake Arena remains open. The City is working on alternatives for user groups during the closure and is endeavouring to return to full service as soon as possible.

    Burnaby has three arenas for you to learn to skate, get some exercise skating or play hockey. Two arenas, Bill Copeland and Burnaby Lake, are located next to each other in the Central Valley area and Kensingston is located in north Burnaby.

    Children’s Admission Policy

    Children 7 years of age or younger must be accompanied on the ice by a person 16 years of age or older. The ratio of children to accompanying persons must be no greater than 3 to 1. We do not recommend that parents leave their children under 10 years old unaccompanied at our facility.
