Community Policing Committee Award
Burnaby City Council approved the establishment of the Burnaby Community Policing Award in 2007 to recognize individuals with a connection to Burnaby who have carried out an act of bravery or courage related to crime prevention or community policing. Nominations are invited at any time of the year from any person who has witnessed or attended the scene of a relevant act of bravery or courage.
Nomination Criteria
Nominations are accepted at anytime during the year. Nominations from any person who has witnessed or attended the scene should meet the following three criteria:
- A verifiable act of bravery or courage
- An act related to crime prevention or community policing
- An act that occurred in Burnaby or, if occurring outside of Burnaby, was carried out by a Burnaby citizen
