Bill Copeland Arena Now Open

Bill Copeland Arena is now open! On-ice programs and Holiday Skating Schedule resumes with some minor changes see schedule below.

New! Loonie Skates
Join us for Loonie Skate on Saturday, December 20 from 11:30am-3pm and Sunday, December 21 from 2-5:30pm. (Admissions is only $1.00 per person includes skates and helmet, free for children 3 years and younger, ratio of children to adults must not be greater than 3 to 1, no bars available.)

     Cancellations include:
  • Skating lessons on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays & Sundays for the rest of December
  • Skate with Santa on December 20 (Replaced with Loonie Skate from 11:30am-3pm)
  • Family Skate & Family Hockey on December 21 (Replaced with Loonie Skate from 2-5:30pm) 

    Programs running:
  • Loonie Skate on December 20 from 11:30am-3pm
  • Loonie Skate on December 21 from 2-5:30pm

    About Us

    Bill Copeland Sports Centre has twin arenas, 2,000-seat spectator capacity, ice skating & other ice sports (fall/winter), dry-floor season (spring/summer), meeting room rentals, food service; 73,000-sq.-ft. space available for conventions, consumer shows, concerts and banquets.

    In 2011, we installed a new 17,000 square foot portable maple wood lacrosse floor providing an excellent playing surface.

    Parking is available for Bill Copeland and Burnaby Lake arena on the west side of the facility directly out front of Bill Copeland. This is shared with CG Brown Pool. Ample parking is also located on the east side of the Sports Complex off Joe Sakic Way across Sperling Street; this is shared with the sports fields and rugby clubhouse.

    By Bus & Skytrain
    Bill Copeland Sports Centre and Burnaby Lake Arenas can be reached from Sperling Skytrain Station via the 144 Metrotown or 110 Metrotown buses, or from Metrotown Skytrain Station via the 144 SFU or 110 Lougheed Station buses.
