Fire Contained On Burnaby Mountain

Posted 1:50 PM July 5, 2015

The Burnaby Fire Department has contained a small brush fire that broke out this morning on the north slope of Burnaby Mountain. Crews will be maintaining a presence in the area for the duration.

No evacuation orders have been issued. Residents affected by the smoke are to close their windows or may wish to leave the area. Delays and rerouting for transit services are expected due to road closures in the area. Using the hiking trails are not recommended at the moment. Park users are reminded to use care and attention during these extreme fire danger conditions. Please visit the Simon Fraser University Road Report web page for updated information.

Confederation Park

Confederation Park Playground Preschool Structure

Families often come to Confederation Park for the entire day. Come picnic among the trees before taking a ride on the Model Steam Railway that operates on the weekends during the summer. On a hot summer day, everyone can cool off and at the outdoor water play area or go swimming at the Eileen Dailly Leisure Pool and Fitness Centre
