
Symphony in the Park featuring the VSO

For over 30 years, Symphony in the Park has been a summer favourite, not only to the residents of Burnaby, but to patrons from the all over the region. This free, outdoor concert features the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performing exceptional symphonic music surrounded by the beauty of Burnaby’s Deer Lake Park (get directions).
Family-friendly programs begin at 3 pm, where you learn about musical instruments from the VSO team. Bring a blanket or chair and a picnic and settle in for a wonderful evening with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

No, there is no limit for the 2025 Symphony in the Park.
There is no public parking available onsite except for those guests with SPARC passes. Please consider using public transit, taxis, bicycles, ridesharing or an offsite parking lot.
Deer Lake Avenue – eastbound (Deer Lake Parkway to Sperling Ave) will be closed.
After 4 pm: limited and authorized access only, one direction traffic heading west on Deer Lake Avenue. Full closure from 9 pm onwards.
The Highway 1-Kensington Avenue westbound offramp is closed for pavement repairs. Use Gaglardi Way or Willingdon Avenue exits for north/south travel off Highway 1 westbound. Please plan ahead and give yourself more time to reach your destination.

We are dedicated to creating an event that brings our community together, setting aside our differences and celebrating our shared identity as neighbours. Rest assured, as we gather for Symphony in the Park, all organizers have taken extensive steps to secure both the public and the event site.
There will be a bike valet service available on site, as well as limited bike racks. We ask that you do not lock your bike to fences or sign posts.
The pathway from the SPARC accessible parking location to the main site is a minimum of 16 ft / 5 m wide, with a flat concrete surface and minimal sloping. Portable toilets with a 32” wide self-closing door, flat entrance, reinforced grab bar and extra room for turning. A ramped platform directly ahead of the main path will be reserved for accessible seating, it is located adjacent to the concrete path at the top/center of the field. The platform will have shade tents and a handful of folding chairs for those who require them. The accessible seating area is limited to the attendee and one guest to accommodate the volume of attendees.
SPARC parking will be limited and available on a first come, first served basis, and is located at the Shadbolt Centre surface lot.

This event draws a very large crowd to the park. Visitors are encouraged to leave their pets at home. Service animals with proper identification are permitted.
