Heritage Burnaby is an online collaboration that represents all of the community assets, heritage services and historic collections managed by the City of Burnaby, British Columbia.
Our goal is to provide a comprehensive and interactive community heritage and history website that brings together the 'personal history' of our citizens. We want to create a wider understanding and appreciation of our city's collective memory.
Through Heritage Burnaby you can experience, learn and research our community's unique history. Use online databases and exhibits to access our heritage sites and landmarks, artifact collections, archival collections and the library's history resources.
If you are interested in searching the City of Burnaby's collections of photographs, artifacts, textual records and heritage landmarks, you can find them online. Do a Collection Search using Heritage Burnaby.
Charting Change Atlas
Charting Change: An Interactive Atlas of Burnaby's Heritage charts the natural and cultural heritage of our community through the use of four interactive maps linking history and geography to reveal community.
On each map, Burnaby's heritage landmarks, historic buildings, and neighbourhoods are plotted and linked to historic photographs, artifacts, and neighbourhood histories. Google Street View capabilities let you zoom in to see these heritage sites online.
