Beresford warming centre hours extended during cold snap

With extremely cold weather in the forecast for next week, the City of Burnaby is extending the hours of its Beresford warming centre to allow patrons to remain inside during the day.

From Monday, January 13 through Sunday, January 19, the Beresford warming centre will be open between 10am and 8pm.

The City’s three warming centres will continue to operate overnight from 8pm to 8am every day until March 31.

  • Beresford (5970 Beresford Street)
  • Swangard Stadium (Kingsway and Boundary Road)
  • Kensington (5889 Curtis Street)

Equipped with tables, chairs, hot beverages and snacks, as well as a place for pets overnight, the warming centres provide much needed support for Burnaby’s most vulnerable citizens.
