Burnaby Lake Aquatic and Arena Facility Open House

Come learn about plans for the new Burnaby Lake Aquatic and Arena Facility!

The City of Burnaby is hosting an open house to update the community on plans to replace CG Brown Pool and Burnaby Lake Arena. Earlier this year, more than 1,800 residents shared their thoughts and ideas for what they’d like to see in a new facility through a survey, workshops, open house and in conversations with city staff at community events. We will share the results of this public engagement as well as a needs assessment conducted by the city.

CG Brown Pool and Burnaby Lake Arena were both built in the early 1960s and no longer meet today’s expectations for civic amenities. Initial plans for a new facility at the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex include:

  • An NHL-sized pad for ice and dry-floor sports
  • Significantly more aquatic space for both athletic and leisure activities
  • Multi-purpose rooms and concession services

The open house is an opportunity for residents to offer feedback and meet with city staff before the project advances to the design phase. Please join us to help shape the best possible facility for our community!

Open House: Wednesday, November 6, 2019, 4-7 pm at Burnaby City Hall (4949 Canada Way)
