City of Burnaby Prepares to Expand Activities as part of BC Restart

The City of Burnaby is excited about restarting activities identified in Step 3 of BC’s Restart plan.

Many residents are eager to see more offerings as well as a relaxation of restrictions at City facilities. Their patience is appreciated as restarting everything cannot happen immediately.

The City is now developing new Communicable Disease plans to continue to safeguard public health through this next phase of reopening. Developing these plans takes time, as the City must wait for and incorporate formal guidance from various authorities. We are moving quickly to bring forward the updated plans in order to adapt our facilities and programs to the new provincial guidance.

As part of the move to Step 3, masks are now recommended but no longer required in all indoor spaces, including City facilities such as recreation centres and libraries. All other requirements, such as physical distancing and capacity limits remain in place for now.

Please watch the City’s website for updates.

We look forward to resuming more activities and services soon.
