Help Us Document the Experience of COVID-19 as Part of Burnaby’s History

Burnaby Village Museum is asking for your help to collect experiences, stories, photos, videos, objects and mementos that will help document this time of COVID-19 in Burnaby. These materials will be used for future exhibits at the Museum and around Burnaby, and shared online for future research.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is a historic event and has affected everyone’s day-to-day life,” said Kate Petrusa, Assistant Curator at the Burnaby Village Museum. “Everyone has a story about what they have been experiencing, and we want to be proactive in collecting and preserving these stories for current and future generations.”

The Museum welcomes any items that document or illustrate your everyday experiences during the pandemic. Share how COVID-19 is affecting you through physical objects, videos, or audio recordings that help tell your story. Some examples of donations could be photographs, hearts for health care workers, painted rocks, signage, artwork, letters or diary entries, and more. Please note that all donors will be required to sign a donation form to complete the process.
