Help shape the future Cameron Recreation Centre and Library in northeast Burnaby!

The City of Burnaby is exploring the replacement of Cameron Recreation Centre and Library. Through an online survey, we are asking the public to tell us what new community amenities they want to see in northeast Burnaby.

Northeast Burnaby is growing quickly, particularly around Lougheed Town Centre. The area, which stretches north of Highway 1 and east of Kensington Avenue, is ready for new library, recreation, culture and leisure facilities to meet the diverse needs of residents.

“As we plan for the replacement of Cameron Recreation Centre and Library, we want the community to be involved,” said Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley. “The survey is a great opportunity for residents and future facility users to tell us what matters most as we invest in new amenities.”

Preliminary plans include a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces:

  • New library
  • Aquatic facility
  • Gymnasium and recreation spaces
  • Dedicated youth and seniors’ spaces

Feedback provided through the online survey will help identify activity preferences, trends and future space needs.

Complete the online survey by Sunday, July 12, 2020.
