Help us celebrate Burnaby’s environmental leaders

It’s time to recognize the people, community groups, businesses and organizations that work tirelessly in Burnaby to protect our natural environment and promote sustainability. Help the City of Burnaby find this year’s Environmental Award winners by submitting a nomination today.

“It’s important that we celebrate Burnaby’s environmental leaders and thank them for their contributions,” said Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley. “They go above and beyond to help us become a more sustainable community in every way.”

The Environmental Awards Program honours environmental achievements in six categories:

  • Business Stewardship
  • Communications
  • Community Stewardship
  • Green Choices
  • Planning and Development
  • Youth

The program includes two award designations. Environmental Awards recognize individuals and groups for outstanding environmental achievements, Environmental Stars recognize accomplishments carried out on a smaller scale.

Nomination forms must be submitted by February 22 through one of the following methods:

Environmental Awards will be awarded at a City Council meeting on June 28. In-person reception from Council will be held if provincial health orders allow.
