Heritage Christmas creates a winter wonderland at Burnaby Village Museum

Heritage Christmas Image 2017

Thousands of guests will be transported to a winter wonderland at the Burnaby Village Museum during Heritage Christmas, one of the largest annual holiday celebrations in Metro Vancouver.

Thousands of lights will adorn the vintage storefronts at Burnaby Village Museum, while holiday carolers and characters like Buddy the Elf wander the streets during Heritage Christmas. The result is a magical holiday experience unlike any other in Metro Vancouver — and it’s all presented free of charge by the City of Burnaby.

Join us on November 30 along with our presenting partner Concord Pacific as we celebrate Bright in Burnaby by lighting up the huge maple tree on the museum grounds at 6:00 p.m. Then grab a hot cocoa or apple cider (while supplies last) and stop by to see Father Christmas himself at the Stride Studio. Guests can also catch a performance of “A Home for Jo-Jo,” a stage show presented by the Forte Theatre Society at the Brookfield Hall.

Heritage Christmas features a huge variety of events throughout the holiday season, including:

  • The 12 Days of Christmas Scavenger Hunt
  • Children’s Christmas Craft
  • Entertainment includes carolers, live music, theatre performances and more!

Spreading holiday cheer has never been easier, as the City of Burnaby has once again committed to donating the proceeds of carousel ticket sales during the Bright in Burnaby event to the Burnaby Christmas Bureau. The Bureau provides brand new gifts for children of families with low incomes, as well as hampers for seniors and individuals in adverse situations. Concord Pacific has generously committed to doubling the donations by matching the total sales of carousel tickets.

In addition, between December 13 to 23 with every picture taken at Heritage Christmas posted with the Hashtag #ConcordSleigh on Instagram or Facebook, Concord Pacific will donate $5 to the Burnaby Christmas Bureau and the participants will have a chance to enter the draw to win a $500 Metrotown gift card.
