RCMP Musical Ride Gallops to Swangard Stadium in August

August 18, 2017 | 5:30 to 9:00pm

Burnaby, BC – One of Canada’s most recognized events, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Musical Ride, comes to Burnaby’s Swangard Stadium on August 18.

“The RCMP Musical Ride is nothing short of magical, and represents a colourful and important Canadian tradition,” said Mayor Derek Corrigan. “The City of Burnaby is pleased to celebrate Canada’s 150th and Burnaby’s 125th birthday by welcoming these riders and this truly spectacular event to Swangard Stadium.”

The RCMP Musical Ride presents a uniquely Canadian performance featuring a troop of 32 beautiful horses and their riders conducting some highly-styled and thrilling choreographed cavalry drills to lively music. Along with this featured event, the evening boasts a variety of family-friendly entertainment that includes performers, activities and displays.

From the famous “Dome” formation - once featured on the back of the Canadian $50 bill - to the exciting “Charge” movement, where lances are lowered and riders and their mounts launch into a fierce gallop, the RCMP Musical Ride continues to be one of Canada’s most beloved and iconic events.
