Northeast Burnaby Community Centres

The City of Burnaby is exploring the replacement of Cameron Recreation Centre and Library in northeast Burnaby, with a new recreation centre, aquatics facility and library, on the same site. The goal is to design the best possible facilities to meet the current and future needs of our evolving community.

Thank you to those who took the time to complete our survey. We heard from over 2,370 community members who shared their thoughts on a new community centre and library. Your feedback will help us identify activity preferences and future needs to guide development plans.

Background

Northeast Burnaby is bounded by Kensington Avenue to the west, Trans-Canada Highway to the south, North Road to the east and Burrard Inlet to the north. The area is growing, particularly around Lougheed Town Centre, and will need new facilities to meet the diverse needs of residents.
