Fire Prevention

In Fire Prevention, we say that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Our proactive approach and pre-incident planning helps to protect Burnaby citizens and firefighters from injury before a fire even starts.

Our Public Education Program strives to bring fire safety awareness to the public. Here, you'll find information and fire safety tips for everyone from school-aged children to seniors to work groups.

Fire Inspections for Your Building

The documents listed below can help you keep your building safe from fire respecting the prevention and suppression of fire, the regulation of fire hazards and the preservation of life and property.

Our trained personnel conduct the annual inspection for all commercial and multi-family residential buildings in Burnaby, and inspections for all new businesses. Use the checklists and read these documents through to ensure that you are up to code before this year's inspection.

As you look through these documents, please feel free to Contact Us with any questions. You can also learn more about us on our Divisions page.
