How to appear as a Delegation before Council
Burnaby City Council may hear three delegations per Council meeting. Council meetings begin at 7:00 pm and delegations are usually heard at the beginning of the meeting.
Delegations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Once the three delegation limit is met, additional requests are put forward to the next available Council meeting. See the Council Meeting Schedule for a list of dates.
Each delegation is given ten minutes to make their presentation to Council, after which Council members may ask questions or comment on the information presented.
- It is Council policy to only hear one delegation representing each side of a particular issue. If there are several requests to be heard representing the same viewpoint on a particular issue delegations will be contacted by the Office of the City Clerk and requested to combine their presentations and choose one representative to appear before Council.
