Responsible Consumption of Alcohol in Burnaby Parks - Pilot Review and Ongoing Program
Burnaby City Council directed staff to bring forward a bylaw to establish a city-wide, year-round program to allow the responsible consumption of alcohol across all City parks. The proposed program will clearly outline where drinking is not permitted – such as in playgrounds, on sport fields and at spray parks. The proposed start date for the program is June 24, 2024, pending the adoption of the new bylaw.
IPD Design and Construction Team - District Energy Phase 1
City Council awarded a contract for the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) team which will develop Phase 1 of the Burnaby District Energy Utility Project. The Burnaby District Energy Utility will capture heat generated from the Metro Vancouver Waste to Energy Facility in Burnaby and transfer that heat to nearby homes and businesses for space heating and domestic hot water heating.
