The City of Burnaby supports and celebrates its LGBTQ2S+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Two-Spirited, Inclusive) community and works to support a cohesive, creative and engaged city.  We are an inclusive gender-diverse community where all are welcome.

The City is a member of the Pride Working Group, which organizes Burnaby's annual Pride Street Party, and supports LGBTQ2S+ events and programming year-round.  The Working Group is advised by a Community Advisory Network.  To learn more, or to become involved, please visit or email

The Burnaby School District supports young LGBTQ2S+ community members through its safe learning and ‘sexual orientation / gender identity’ policies. For information on LGBTQ2S+ resources available in Burnaby and elsewhere in B.C., please visit the website for Qmunity, B.C.’s Queer, Trans, and Two-Spirit Resource Centre. As well, the community organization MOSAIC provides support and programming for LGBTQ2S+ newcomers through its 'I Belong' program.
