Gathie Falk

July 4 to August 24, 2014
Gathie Falk: paperworks

This survey of Gathie Falk’s works on paper includes new paper maché sculptural pieces and shirting created for the exhibition. A diverse selection of Falk’s work, including acrylic, watercolours, and screenprints will be shown in the lower gallery, along with her large-scale Shirting series, as well as other works focusing on garments and textiles. In the turret room visitors will have an opportunity to view four of Falk’s performance art works that were recorded in 1969 and 1972. The upper gallery takes on a theme of nature and features two large-scale installation pieces. The second floor landing exhibition wall will feature “The Mysterious Chronicles of a Broken Arm,” an autobiographical series of surreal gouache paintings Falk painted with her left hand after breaking her right arm.
