Gillian Worsley: Civil Disobedience

Civil Disobedience

October 2-December 2, 2012
Bob Prittie Library, Burnaby | Map

Gillian Worsley presents her series of iconic figures from rock n’ roll, literature and theory through the thoughts and words they have produced. With a nod to famous 60s rock poster artists such as Bob Masse and Bonnie MacLean, Worsley uses text by musicians such as Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan, writer/poets Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac, and thinkers Friedrich Nietszche and Karl Marx to create screen prints, foregrounding language as portraiture.
