Gilmore Community School had undergone significant seismic upgrades for 3 years and finally when the south wing and activity room were completed a mural was created that would bring everyone together to inspire creative energy and the participation in a community legacy. It was a great opportunity for over 400 community members to participate in the design and painting of a mural that symbolised the new peaceful environment.

The large mural that covers one full wall and three other areas was designed and painted by these community members who were given the opportunity to learn drawing and painting techniques such as colour theory and landscape composition. The murals explore the path from season to season as well as from day to night. The images depict the importance of nature and the feeling of being in a safe and peaceful environment.
