Ernie Winch Park Inclusion Mural

Ernie Winch Park Ernie Winch ParkErnie Winch Park

Two Burnaby community members initiated a project in partnership with the Community Arts Development Program that brought together over 200 students from twelve Burnaby schools, families from Hillside Gardens BC Housing and the South Side Church. The ideas were compiled to help with the creation of a ground mural at Ernie Winch Spray Park located at 7680 15th Street in Burnaby.

The mural represents the journey to Canada through images that explore belonging, inclusion, growth and peaceful connections. “We want to pass the message about inclusion to the community, and promote values of respect, love, courage, anti-bullying, peace, etc. We want the Park to be more attractive for children to play and at the same time see a positive message. We believe that art has the power to heal places and people.”
