Media Arts Instructors

Christine Biala 

Christine graduated from Sheridan College in Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts in Animation and also an Arts Fundamentals Certificate. She has worked as a Game Artist at Thinking Ape, a Vancouver mobile game company and also as a Lead Artist for a media company in Ontario. Christine teaches Intro to Animation and Storybooks & Comic Books in the Shadbolt Media Lab.

Sophia Dagher  

Sophia is a Lebanese-American filmmaker living and working in Vancouver, BC. Since graduating from the film production program at UBC, she has directed and produced a breadth of videos focusing on eco-tourism and educational content. She mentors youth in media arts for a number of organizations in the province. When she's not working you can find her skiing, berry picking, and listening to experimental music. 

Kristen Roos

Kristen Roos is a practicing interdisciplinary artist with experience teaching a wide variety of mediums in the visual and media arts. Currently, his primary medium is sound art, and his writing on sound and radio art appears in the publications Radio Territories, and Islands of Resistance: Pirate Radio in Canada. He has received awards for his work, including the Vancouver Mayors Arts Awards for live/work space, and a People’s Choice Award for his Ghost Station Installation at Nuit Blanche, Toronto. He holds a BFA from Concordia University, and an MFA from the University of Victoria.
