Shadbolt in your Community

Shadbolt in your Community is dedicated to providing quality, accessible arts programs and to advocate for arts education.

Involvement in the arts has many benefits to child development, including an increase in academic achievement, and can be encouraged at any age. Shadbolt arts programs relate to and reinforce the core academic subjects, leading to interdisciplinary dexterity. Engagement with the arts is not only fun, it fosters these important skills:

  • imagination and critical thinking
  • problem solving
  • craftsmanship
  • social and emotional skills
  • verbal and nonverbal communication
  • self-confidence and self-discipline
  • setting and achieving goals
  • physical literacy
