Burnaby Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services’ Restart Plan has included reopening of facilities, activities and programs with adjustments to ensure safety of patrons and staff. Advance reservation and payment is required for all activities and programs, drop-ins are not available. To use your Recreation Credit, call the facility you are planning on visiting to reserve your time slot or register for a program. With reduced capacity, increased cleaning and changes to schedules, activity admission is by individual activity fees. Passes are currently not available.

Burnaby Recreation Credit Program

Burnaby’s Recreation Credit program supports Burnaby residents in financial need. Qualifying applicants will receive a credit in our registration system that can be used at any Burnaby Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services facility for registered programs and admissions including swimming, skating, fitness classes and weight rooms. Please note: golf, private lessons, Bubble Sports Gym, Bubble Bees and Bubble Games Room are not included in this program.

To qualify for Burnaby’s Recreation Credit program, applicants must:

  • live in Burnaby
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee 
  • meet the Low Income criteria or be receiving Government Income Assistance

Once your application is approved, you will receive a confirmation letter. As you register for programs or purchase passes, the cost of those services will be deducted from your Recreation Credit balance. Your Recreation Credit will be valid for one year, and any unused credit will be removed from your account after expiration. 

Please note: the Recreation Credit has no cash value; refunds on purchases using the Recreation credit will be returned back as Recreation Credit. You can apply for and receive Recreation Credit once per year.
