May 7-13 is Emergency Preparedness Week. This nationally recognized event highlights the need for all Canadians to take action to protect themselves and their families during all kinds of emergencies.

  • There are small earthquakes in the Lower Mainland almost every day!
  • Burnaby Fire Department responded to 390 building fires and 948 other fires (grass & brush, rubbish, etc.) in 2016.

Come to City Hall on Wednesday, May 10 from 6:30-8:00 PM for a FREE presentation. Learn how you can be ready to face any kind of emergency. Special guest Deputy Fire Chief Dave Samson will be on hand to speak about his experience assisting international rescue efforts in Nepal after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that ravaged the country in 2015.
