Snow and Ice Removal Continues

City crews and equipment will be working this week to:

  • Clear catch basins in anticipation for this week’s thawing and rainfall events
  • Clear wheelchair ramps and bus stops of compacted snow and ice
  • Sweep and clear main roadways and priority routes of sand abrasives

Remove snow from catch basins and storm drains. Keeping catch basins and storm drains on your street clear of snow helps prevent flooding when snow melts. Report problems to our 24-hour service line at 604-294-7200.

Locate catch basins using the Burnaby Map:

  1. Select Layers button
  2. Expand Engineering Operations option > Infrastructure
  3. Select Storm > Catchbasin > Zoom into your street

Motorists are advised to be prepared for changing road conditions. Attention should be paid to water pooling around roadways due to forecasted rainfall this week.

Hazardous conditions, downed trees, potholes, and localized flooding can be reported to our 24-hour Emergency Dispatch at 604-294-7200. Non-emergency requests can be reported to 604-294-7460. What's New?

55+ Membership Fees

To take part in the 55+ activities, you need to purchase a membership. You can use the single centre fee if you usually take part in activities in only one centre, or you can use the multi-centre fee if you enjoy taking part in activities in more than one centre. If you’re a Burnaby citizen 90 years + please contact your local 55+ Centre regarding a lifetime membership. Note that many classes are open to non-members for a slightly higher fee.

Single Centre: $18.10 per year
Multi-centre: $43.50 per year

Volunteers Needed!

The Bonsor 55+ Society and staff would like to thank our committed senior volunteers.

If you are interested, volunteers are needed to help in food service, bus trips, bingo, special events and a variety of other leisure activities for people 55 years and over.

About Us  

Bonsor 55+ Centre

Bonsor Complex has expanded with a new 8,400 square foot space dedicated to 55+. The two storey building, located on the north side of the parking lot has a lounge and coffee bar, snooker room, two meeting rooms, multi-purpose space along with offices.

Connected by a walkway from Bonsor Complex, the new facility has 24 new parking spaces, a large elevator, beautiful landscaping and a partially covered patio.
