Spring Birds at Deer Lake

8:30am
Walk with George to discover the activity of our feathered friends in and around the lake at this very birdy time of year. Whether on the water, or in the woods and in the fields, we will find a mix of species: our year-round residents, birds just moving through to points north, and summer visitors here for the breeding season. From herons to hawks, and from woodpeckers to warblers, there’s lots to see and lots to hear.

Century Gardens

11:30am-12:00pm
Learn about the new rhododendrons and trees in the park and why we are rejuvenating this garden

Discover the Heronry

12:30pm & 2:00pm
Join George for an up close and personal view of the Deer Lake Heronry. A short walk from Shadbolt, and with all the action to view at the nesting location, makes this a perfect family session. The birds are large, easy to watch, and very impressive as they go about their nest building, egg laying, and the raising of their young.

Century Gardens

1:00pm-1:30pm
Learn about the new and colourful landscape around our ponds and how these plants could be used in your own yard.
