Blake Wydeman

Blake Wydeman is a painter and muralist working and living in east Vancouver. He is interested in exploring a variety of mediums on both small and large scales. He works as a Registered Massage Therapist and an artist, allowing either profession to inspire the other. He combines a spontaneous, painterly style within a structure based in logic and science to create unique artworks that take both realistic and abstract forms.

Emily Gray creates art that engulfs mundane spaces and transforms our everyday experiences. Growing up on her family’s oyster farm on the beautiful Sunshine Coast has inspired Emily from a young age; and she continues to be inspired by the West Coast. Emily has always been artistically creative, and murals have been her main passion since 2004. She currently creates dynamic compositions that allow viewers to flow through the paintings and experience art on a larger scale.

While classically trained in painting, drawing, sculpture and animation, Ever and Lynn have become a great team known for their award-winning Chalk Street Painting talents.  This will be their third year participating in the Burnaby chalk festival and are looking forward to meet and share chalk art with the community.

Joel discovered street painting in 1996, and has since participated in and been featured at many street painting events across Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Mexico,  the Netherlands and the United States. His skilled hands, outgoing personality and love of art have made Joel a very successful street painter that has earned him many accolades and awards.

Scott Gillies

Moving to Burnaby to study Animation Art & Design was a life-changing experience that set Scott on his current artistic path. Now based in Victoria, Scott is fascinated by optical illusions and three-dimensional anamorphic chalk drawings. Around 10 years ago, he began to play around with creating distorted drawings that, when viewed from a precise focal point, create the illusion of a 3D object. Continually inspired by nature, Scott infuses this influence into his sculptures, paintings, animation, filmmaking and 3D chalk art. 

Lori Escalera

Lori has enjoyed participating in many street painting festivals along the California Coast, Canada, China and Mexico. As a professional and award-winning Madonnari (street painter), Lori has been featured at many events throughout the United States. Lori was an inaugural “Featured Artist” at the 2007 International Sarasota Chalk Festival. In 2014 and 2015, she was part of an international team of artists on two Guinness World Record Projects for the Largest Anamorphic Street Painting, as designed by Kurt Wenner in Venice, Florida. 

Oksana Gaidasheva

Originally from Belarus, artist Oksana has been germinating a passion for painting on walls from a young age and currently is a full time artist residing in Vancouver. She has painted murals throughout the lower mainland and around the world and uses tone of colour to depict various subject matters. 

Sharyn Chan

Sharyn is a unique blend of scientist, artist, hip-hop dancer and motorcycle racer. Drawing illustrations of bears and rabbits at the age of three, she was born to be an artist -  but her career path took a different turn in college where she graduated with a computer science degree and stayed in that field for more than 30 years. While she dabbled in the artistic side of computers, it wasn’t until she met world-class street painters at Santa Barbara I Madonnari in 2001 that she learned about the ancient art form of street painting.

Ian Morris

Ian Morris  

Ian has been a full-time street painter in Victoria for the past 12 years, creating both reproductions of famous works as well as "3D" or anamorphic images. Ian has participated at a number of festivals throughout Canada and the United States, including the Sarasota Festival in Florida where he joined a team of international chalk artists. Together, they participated in creating the world's largest 3D ground image that was designed and directed by the inventor of 3-D chalk techniques, Kurt Wenner. 

Lorelle A. Miller

Lorelle is known for her involvement as a Madonnina (street painter) over the last 18 years and has been an invited and featured artist in countless festivals throughout Canada, Mexico Norway and the United States. She demonstrates her passion for beautiful pastels while working individually and on international team projects, and has earned prestigious awards for her work. Lorelle expresses a lifetime of developed techniques and personal investigation in her work.

Wayne & Cheryl Renshaw

As a husband and wife street painting team their painting adventure began back in 2000, and in the years since their different skills and preferences have grown to complement each other’s work. They have painted at festivals throughout the USA and have been honored as featured artists in Palo Alto, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara. Much of their street art is done as three-dimensional projections and is designed to encourage interaction with visitors. 

Teresa Waclawik

Teresa started drawing and painting as a child and always knew she would be an artist. Her entrepreneurial career blossomed when she was fifteen after selling her first pastel portrait for five dollars. She realized she loved studying faces which led her to drawing caricatures at parties and special events across Canada. Her first murals were on her bedroom walls as a teenager, and throughout her career she has created over 24 murals. Teresa strives to make a difference in her work and community, and live a life of joyful purpose in all that she does.
