Burnaby is lighting up for the holidays with plenty of affordable family events around the City. Enjoy Heritage Christmas at Burnaby Village Museum, take part in holiday events at our recreation centres, and shop local with gifts for the Burnaby residents on your list.

With so many ways to get into the holiday spirit, Burnaby can be your winter wonderland. Wishing you a safe and happy holiday season.

Heritage Christmas - BVM

Heritage Christmas at Burnaby Village Museum

November 24, 2018 - January 4, 2019
Stroll through the streets of the Village to see wreaths, cedar swags and vintage-themed displays. At the bandstand, visitors can create their own magical holiday show with lights that change colours to sound. Free admission, times vary. Carousel rides $2.65 each. Nearly every corner of Burnaby is decorated with bright and merry lights to help shine the way this holiday. To help celebrate the season, the City encourages residents and visitors alike to add the #burnabylights hashtag to their favorite Burnaby holiday light displays. View map »


Edmonds Festival of Lights

Edmonds Centre

Come watch as we light up the huge tree. Visit Santa and enjoy hot chocolate, hot dogs, entertainment and activities! All ages.


Bright in Burnaby

Burnaby Village Museum
Saturday, December 1
5:00-9:00 PM

Join us for an evening in support of the Burnaby Christmas Bureau. Ceremonies include a Tree Lighting Ceremony and light refreshments at 6:00 PM. Proceeds from carousel tickets purchased between 5:00-9:00 PM will be donated to the Bureau. Learn more »

Winter Fun

Join us for some Winter Fun fun this holiday season! Bring your family and friends for a night of live music, arts and crafts, games and festive movies. Santa will be making a guest appearance throughout the night for photos.

Registration required, $2.00 per person, all ages. Children must have an adult attend with them.


Carol Ships Parade of Lights

Barnet Marine Park

Join us at Barnet Marine Park and watch the flotilla of carol ships sail past. The ships are expected to sail by between 8:00-8:30 PM, times may vary depending on weather please come early to avoid missing the ships. 


Light and Dark: A Seasonal Arts Experience

This winter event at the Shadbolt aims to inspire awe and dazzle the senses with interactive art activities, a labyrinth of light, family entertainment (including a circus performer) and more. You are invited to exercise your creativity and experience the beauty of artful illumination.
