High Streamflow Advisory: Fraser River

The River Forecast Centre has issued a High Streamflow Advisory for the Fraser River due to increased snow melt runoff. River levels and flows are expected to remain elevated this week and into the weekend.

City staff are monitoring water levels, conducting daily patrols of areas adjacent to the Fraser River, and are prepared for possible minor flooding as part of our Flood Response Plan »

This charming festival produced by the City of Burnaby in collaboration with the Burnaby Rhododendron & Gardens Society, promotes the long-term sustainable, ecological health of our communities. It presents a unique venue for both horticulture and arts groups.

Festival highlights include variety entertainment, rovers, mini-workshops, and interactive arts activities. A silent auction, plant sales are always crowd-pleasing favourites at this fun-filled festival!

Early Morning Activity: "The Bird Life of Deer Lake Park"
Discover the early spring birds of Deer Lake Park. Highlights include: the Great Blue Heron heronry, wood Ducks, Gadweall and other waterfowl on the lake, Rufous and Anna's hummingbirds, plus various species of woodpeckers, wrens, sparrows, finches, and perhaps some swallows and an early warbler or two.
