Play Pickleball

New Protocols and Guidelines

Due to a recently issued Provincial Health Order, single and double play are permitted for tennis and pickleball. Doubles play is allowed as long as the participants maintain a distance of three metres from one another while playing, unless the participants reside in the same household.

To keep our tennis and pickleball courts safe, the City of Burnaby has implemented these protocols and guidelines:

  • Maintain a physical distance of 3 metres (9.8 ft) at all times (no physical contact)
  • Casual game play only: lessons and league play are not allowed
  • Players are to go around opposite sides of the net at changeovers
  • Players are to queue outside the courts, maintaining physical distance
  • Players use separate set of balls and clearly mark them prior to play
  • Do not share racquets or other equipment
  • Other City of Burnaby sport court rules still apply

The courts are available on a first come, first served basis. There is no fee and no advanced booking. Please bring your own equipment. Enjoy the fresh air and this fun game!

Lockboxes containing pickleball nets for public set up and use are available at the following courts:

  • Bonsor
  • Burnaby Heights
  • Confederation
  • Forest Grove
  • Keswick
  • Lou Moro
  • Robert Burnaby

To obtain a key for the lockboxes, please call 604-294-7222 to set up an appointment. We are located at #101-4946 Canada Way. Please bring photo ID.

For all other locations, please bring your own portable pickleball nets. Your portable nets can be set up while permanent tennis nets are still in place.

Each tennis court has four pickleball courts as illustrated in the diagram below.
