Parks, Recreation and Culture Commission

In 2023, Council approved the new Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee as a new Advisory Body to Council to replace the Commission. The Commissions last meeting was held on December 5, 2023. Historical records of the Commission can be found on Burnaby.ca/eAgenda.

The commission was authorized by council to manage and develop all aspects of the City's parks, recreation and cultural properties and services, and to act as the community’s liaison to our Parks, Recreation and Culture (PRC) Department. Together with PRC, the commission ensured our recreational and cultural facilities and parklands met the needs of our community and provide a balanced and enjoyable program of parks, recreational and cultural services.

Effective as of 2024, the Commission has been replaced by the Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee.
