Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame offering a chance to be part of the action

Last updated: July 12, 2022

Are you passionate about sports? Have you been, or are you now connected to one or more sports in Burnaby? If so, then this may be a golden opportunity for you to get involved and make your unique contribution to the Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame!

For over 20 years, the Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame has partnered with the City of Burnaby Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services to recognize the “Best of the Best” within the Burnaby sporting community. Featuring such sports luminaries as soccer’s Christine Sinclair and hockey’s Joe Sakic, the Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame has honoured over 150 of Burnaby’s past sports heroes, including individuals, teams, coaches and builders who have served as inspiration for future generations of stars.

Currently housed within the Bill Copeland Sports Centre, the Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame will move next door in the next few years to an exciting, new state‐of‐the art facility in the new Burnaby Lake Aquatic and Arena complex.

As a volunteer member of the Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame Governing Committee, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape our future. The committee is currently looking for individuals with experience and skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • Public relations
  • Fund raising
  • Sponsorships and partnerships
  • Website development and management
  • Storytelling
  • Project management
  • Event planning

If this sounds like a team that you would like to be a part of, please send a cover letter outlining your passion for sports in Burnaby, along with your resume, to [email protected].
