City of Burnaby seeking public input on a new customer service centre

Last updated: November 7, 2022

The City plans to create a new customer service centre and we are asking the public to share their current and past experiences with using City services, as well as identify future service needs. This public input will help to inform how the customer service centre can improve the accessibility and quality of service for Burnaby residents and customers, as well as develop priorities for implementation.

Those wishing to share their perspectives in an online survey are invited to visit www.burnaby.ca/yourvoice until Sunday, November 27. Also, anyone interested in learning more about the project and speaking to City representatives of the project team are invited to one of two open houses:

  • Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 4-7 pm at Metropolis at Metrotown (at the City of Burnaby booth near the Food Court)
  • Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 11 am to 2 pm at Cameron Recreation Complex (in the upper lobby next to the library entrance)

About the project

A pilot of the initiative is expected to launch towards the end of this year, with implementation starting in spring of 2023. The project will roll out in several phases, and the City of Burnaby will provide several opportunities for people to provide input along the way.

The new customer service centre will simplify, centralize and improve how residents, business owners and visitors access City information and services. These services could include:

  • submitting service requests, inquiries or feedback to the City
  • reporting missed garbage pickup
  • reserving parks or recreation space
  • applying for a business licence or pet licence
  • reporting a pothole, damaged streetlight, or other maintenance concern
  • paying property taxes
  • many others, based on community input

As a City, we want to deliver a first-class service to our community, and to put the community at the centre of all we do. Through this project, the City aims to advance towards our goal to make Burnaby a city where everyone wants to live in and be in.
