The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performs its annual free outdoor concert showcasing the beauty of Burnaby’s Deer Lake Park. The crowd-pleasing program of light classics and popular favourites is always a coveted and not to be missed highlight of the summer!

This year's 32nd anniversary performance of Symphony in the Park will transport listeners to other worlds, whether it’s the gritty streets of New York (Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story), the story of an alien visitor (Adventures on Earth (Theme from E.T.) by John Williams) or one of the greatest love stories of all time (Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet - Fantasy Overture).

Symphony in the Park will also feature a solo performance from an up-and-coming young musician. This year's feature soloist will be chosen during the VSO Orchestral Institute’s concerto competition in late June. New this year is an opening performance from the VSO Orchestral Institute which includes students from the orchestral training program.

Come early, bring a blanket or chair and a picnic and settle in for a wonderful evening with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Just a reminder that parking in the vicinity is limited, so alternate transportation is recommended.
