Burnaby City Hall
Burnaby City Hall was originally built in 1955. The building has been a vital part of our community but has reached its end of life. We are exploring the best option to ensure that Burnaby residents and businesses are well served in the years to come. - Planned
BC Parkway Enhancement Project
The City is developing a long-term plan to enhance BC Parkway corridor from Boundary Road to the Royal Oak SkyTrain station, referred to as the Parkway Alive! - Planned
Burnaby District Energy Utility
The City is planning to develop a district energy utility that will provide south Burnaby with safe, reliable, sustainable, resilient and cost-competitive thermal energy. - In progress

The City is taking action to improve processing times for development and building permits and create a faster, simpler and better experience for applicants. - Completed
WebReg—improving our online registration system
In July 2023, the City launched on a new online registration system to make it easier for you to register for your parks, recreation and culture activities. - Completed
Golf Burnaby Website Redevelopment
The City’s completed its enhancement of Golf Burnaby’s website as well as a adding a new tee time booking app to make it easier and quicker for golfers to learn and play golf in Burnaby. Green Recycling and Organics (GRO) facility
The City is proposing a Green Recycling and Organics (GRO) facility that would process up to 150,000 tonnes of organic waste annually from Burnaby and neighbouring communities and businesses.- In progress
Swangard Stadium Feasibility Study
The City of Burnaby is conducting a feasibility study to help identify a future vision for Swangard Stadium that will explore opportunities in the short and long term and provide a roadmap for future projects that guide reinvestment in the facility. - Planned
Royal Oak Urban Village Community Plan
The City of Burnaby is developing a new community plan for Royal Oak Urban Village in south Burnaby to shape how this neighbourhood will develop over the mid to long term as a diverse, sustainable and resilient community. - Planned
Edmonds Town Centre Community Plan
The City of Burnaby is developing a new community plan for the Edmonds Town Centre in southeast Burnaby to shape how this neighbourhood will develop over the mid to long term as a diverse, sustainable and resilient community. - Completed
Buchanan West Conceptual Master Plan
The Buchanan West Conceptual Master Plan aims to create a vibrant, mixed-use, walkable and transit-connected neighbourhood with dynamic architecture and inclusive and accessible public amenities. - Planned
Edmonds Town Centre Cycling Network
As part of the City’s Priority Cycling Network that is envisioned in Burnaby’s Transportation Plan, Connecting Burnaby, the City is looking to improve the current cycling network in the Edmonds Town Centre area. - Completed
Greystone Walkway Lighting
The City installed pedestrian safety lights along the Burnaby Mountain Urban Trail running through Greystone Park to illuminate and improve lighting in these areas. - Completed
Vanson Walkway Lighting

Customer Service Centre
We are introducing a customer service centre pilot project that will simplify, centralize and improve how residents, business owners and visitors access City information and services. - In progress
Fire Station #4
City of Burnaby is replacing the Fire Station 4 on Duthie Avenue with a new station in a new location, designed to meet the needs of our growing city. - Planned
Mountain Air Bike Skills Course Redevelopment
The City of Burnaby is redeveloping the Mountain Air Bike Skills Course to build upon the current popularity of the course and raise it to a first-class local destination for biking enthusiasts. - In progress

The City of Burnaby and Simon Fraser University have come together to create a joint Civic Innovation Lab, combining their expertise and resources in order to find fresh solutions to challenges and issues affecting cities.
