Burnaby, BC – World-renowned Canadian talent will be centre stage as Shadbolt Centre for the Arts launches its winter lineup of live performances.
The season kicks off this weekend with a performance by New York jazz performers Larry Goldings, Peter Bernstein and Bill Stewart. The trio, which has been together for over 30 years, has been recognized for charting new ground with its synergistic playing and thoughtful music.
On January 26, we welcome a double bill of JUNO award nominees. Toronto-based, two-time Juno award nominee and soul music powerhouse Tanika Charles has slowly but surely established herself as a staple of the genre both at home and abroad. Her music revels in honesty and attitude, her live show is high energy and endearing, and she continues to win audiences over one album, one stream and one encore at a time. Also on the bill is STORRY, a multidisciplinary artist who writes and produces her music, and is intrinsically involved in all aspects of her career from designing album covers to directing award-winning music videos. Her debut concept album 'CH III: The Come Up' was produced and released independently and was nominated for a 2021 JUNO award for Adult Contemporary Album alongside Celine Dion and Alanis Morrissette.
On February 4 and 5, jazz impresario Cory Weeds brings together the best of Vancouver’s jazz talent with renowned artists from across Canada and the world for the second edition of Jazz at the ‘Bolt.
Finally, Nicola Cavendish crashes onto the stage in Driving Me Crazy on March 21 and 22. Driving Me Crazy is about a family and their relationships with each other as experienced through their vehicles. Inspired by stories from three generations, Driving Me Crazy follows Liz, a grandmother fighting to keep her driver’s licence, her independence and her voice in society.'
