Planning a meeting or activity?

Willingdon Community Centre is a multi-use recreation centre situated within Willingdon Heights Park in northwest Burnaby—a short distance west of Brentwood Town Centre.

We have two multi-purpose rooms available for up to 30 people maximum.

Cancellation Policy

  • Please provide notice at least 30 days before the rental for a full refund.
  • If 14-29 days notice is received, you will receive a 50% refund.
  • If less than 14 days notice is received, you will receive no refund.

Alcohol

To serve alcohol at your event, apply for a Special Event Permit through BC Liquor and Cannabis Licensing (BCLC). Please present the Special Event Permit to the booking clerk two weeks before your event. The original permit will need to be posted in the multi purpose room on the day of the event.

Food

  • Cooking is not permitted. Due to food safe regulations, we ask that all food items brought into the facility are either store bought (e.g. Costco fruit tray), delivery (e.g. pizza) or pre-packaged (e.g. chips & pop).  Foods prepared at home are not permitted with the exception of birthday cake or cupcakes. 
  • All food must stay in the party room and cannot be taken into the lobby area.
  • Please bring your own decorating supplies—tablecloths, dishes and cutlery.
  • Please use painter’s tape to put up decorations.
  • Please remove all food and supplies following your event—overnight storage is not permitted.

Tables and chairs

  • Standard rectangular tables: up to 10
    • Table dimensions (L6’ x W2.5’ x H2.5’)
    • Standard sized chairs: up to 30
  • Preschool rectangular tables: up to 4
    • Table dimensions (L4’x W2.5 x H2.5’)
    • Preschool sized chairs: up to 16
       

Set up and clean up

A blank floor plan will be provided with your rental. Fill in the number of tables and chairs required and submit 2 weeks before your event.
The custodian will complete the set up and arrangement of the tables and chairs.

  • The table surfaces are to be wiped clean. Paper towels are provided in the room.
  • Please place all garbage and recycling in the bins provided.
  • Our custodian will clean the floors and put away the tables and chairs.

Fire exits and safety

  • City of Burnaby bylaws state smoking is not permitted on the premises.
  • Emergency exits must remain easily accessible at all times.
  • Don’t block the exits with tables, chairs, equipment or extension cords.

Liability insurance

Commercial general liability insurance is required to rent any City facility- please check with the facility for specific requirements. You may purchase insurance through an independent broker of your choice, or receive a quote through AON Insurance
